Hi all,
It’s been a little while. I have promised that I’ve decided to move my blog to a new domain name by the 8th of this month. And I’m glad it’s certainly achieved! And I’m glad the migration plans is over and I hope I won’t be seeing myself doing this again in the near future.
What you noticed is that I’ve renamed the domain to www.generationmech.com. Not generationmechjournal.com anymore. Sounds a lot better I reckon. Couldn’t believe that it took me almost 9 months to figure out why my old domain name never took off.
Now all I need now is to tidy up my blogs post quickly and hope we can put everything’s into perspective what my new anime blog domain is going to represent moving forward!
It’ll have to be discussed on my next blog posts to think about.

Hello all.
Been crazy lately for the past couple of weeks since the start of the new year. They’ve been like that for a number of good reasons….
One of the things I mentioned about fulfilling the major goals for my blog is that I’m going to get a new facelift for this blog.
Yes. A new WP theme is in the works. And I’m expected to have this delivered by the 8th of Feb, the latest.
And I’m also going to give my blog address a new name as well as I found some comments from a few people saying having the word ‘journal’ seem like too much of a mouthful. Not many people like the website address name like that with a journal appended on… So from here onwards, I’m going to truncate that, from generationmechjournal.com to just generationmech.com.
I think it sounds a lot better. More concise. More precise to the point.
That way, it wouldn’t sound like it’s part of the live journal.com. That may confuse plenty of anime and mecha readers out there when searching or reading online…. So I’m going to stick by those changes.
Having said, even if the changes are going to get carried out on that day, there will be more changes to follow up latter on during the early part of the year. I’m planning to get a number of good anime links to put in place so my blog looks more like a proper place for mecha anime blogger would come (and stay) to read. ^^
So, hopefully there shouldn’t be too many dramas when that happens.
We shall see.^^

Gundam Statue in Odaiba Park before being dismantled in early September this year
Reading a couple of anime feeds from ANN.com, I can see that several bloggers posted a lot on how Gundam won one of the best awards in Japan in the category of art and design.
For the team of Green Tokyo Gundam, they sure certainly deserve a great praise by the public. A very honourable praise. Good on them for their outstanding achievement!! With so many Gundam bloggers online, it’s difficult to see how such a ‘recreational’ figure (why I call it recreational it’s because technically it was part of Odaiba parks’ recreational activities) that’s been crafted to such extraordinary lengths.
And it won’t be long before Tetsujin 28 statue will have its turn to get nabbed for award nominations, since its unveil in early September October.
Not sure about its design potential though. Maybe more comic potential?

Now there’s a new widget function on the right hand column of my blog. It’s an enhanced version of my recent posts. It comes with two tabs; one for the recent posts window; and the other for my twitter updates. Took me a while to produce this…
So now you can follow me on twitter updates and checking my post updates using this widget a lot.
Hope it looks helpful. Keep twittering! :)

Sorry, everyone. I know I should be busy posting all the great facts on anime and mecha by now.
But now I got more pressing concerns with my blog since the transfer. I realised that I cannot trace back all the emails I received/replied prior to the transfer so I’ve lost all of the contacts of people who wish to register on my blog. My humblest apologies to everyone and all the inconveniences it caused you….
Please register again, and I will see to it that you will get user registration sorted quickly.
Nevertheless, fortunately I keep all my important configuration settings made on this site on a document elsewhere so basically I have a ‘backup’ putting away. That way I can resume working on my blog and getting things running more smoothly from here onwards, along with other minor technical issues to resolve.

Hello everyone,
It’s been more than a week since my last post at the beginning of this month as I logged an IT request to transfer my generationmechjournal.com domain to another new host. The impact of this transfer would mean any new post I try to blog during the first week of this month will be zilch-out! So no point having to carry on blogging while the transfer was taking place….
But now! The wait is finally over! GMJ’s finally moved to a new home! I’m glad to say this week’s harrowing burden filled with anxiety and uncertainty for me has definitely lifted off my shoulders. I’m finally rest assured I got my peace of mind back that everything’s going back to normal ie my blogs, tweeter, subscription feeds, etc etc. Everything!
Those of you who commented on my blog posts during the transfer, will notice your comments are no longer there. I’ll do my best to address as much as I can during this transition as there may be similar incidents such as these do crop in the blog.
That’s what you get when you perform an IT change request. Somethings are bound to not work ’smoothly’ as the original setup during this move. If you’ve worked in IT as long as I have, you would understand where my cynicism is coming from. :)
Stay tuned. We’ll be in touch within a few days time!

Hi all,
Sorry there hasn’t been any new posts coming yet. Been busy with pressing on the website migration plans to my new host in Australia. My current host finally agreed to make it happen, and yes!  GMJ’s  moving to a newer, bigger and better place! With the expectations of more web management features, strong traffic statistical tools and more affordable monthly-plan price in place, what else could you ask more for it?
Boy, it’s going to be an exciting change. I cannot wait!!!! :):):)
They said it will take roughly 2-5 working days for the website transfer to complete.
I’m so counting on it! ;)

Lately, I’ve been thinking hard about tweaking some cosmetic changes to my blog. Sitebar navigation isn’t quite ‘there’ yet for me. And the footer of the page still looks incomplete. Still have various considerations to get things done before it looks like a proper blog with some bells and whistles. And there’s plenty of site’s functionality I needed to clear up. Some of the posts look very inconsistent as compared to others.
So those are things in the plans within the next couple of days…
Thank you for the patience.
