Robot Wrestling Federation?

Though it would interesting to watch this interesting footage of mechanical robots made by some wackiest, and cleverest robot scientists that were made in mankind history!

Since we now have plenty of World Wrestling Federation matches like WWF, how bout we have robot wrestling instead like this?

Have a look at this 5-minute clip video.

Note that as you watch this, you’ll notice some familiar character faces of these robot wrestlers.. One from the our early childhood days of great robot anime shows. A 4-foot tall red mechanical bot that has 2 red triangular horns pointing outwards. And if you’re from my generation, you won’t find it hard to recognize that it’s none other than Getter 1 from the Getter Robo TV series!

Howw incredibly awesome is that? ^^

Fun with Gurren Lagann on Iphone

A while ago, Gainax, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann’s creator, have been busy for the past few days in preparing (and finally releasing) their new range of cool gadgets stuff, featuring Gurren Lagann’s main characters as the main themes.

Gurren Lagann Iphone - featuring Yoko on the cover!!

New Iphone applications have been produced. In fact, they’re actually game. It’s the new touch adddres book theme, featuring Yoko. Dubbed as Tatchigemuapuri Touch.

Now since as I don’t own an Iphone myself personally, so bear in mind when I do my best to describe what the software does, in one’s best interpretation. (Spoilers alert!)

The game works within the touch app settings on the device which allows the user to get better interaction with the user. And every action the user makes on the device, Yoko expressed different types of facial moods, depending on what sort of finger stroke actions the user’s intending to do with the Iphone.

You can set other Gurren Lagann’s hero other than Yoko as your Iphone page cover.

Pretty neat. As much as I’m dying to get this app, I couldn’t cause I have an android phone and I’m disappointed they didn’t make an Android version for this game. :-(

Oh well… At least there’s somebody out there who would love to give this a crack. See how you go!

Evangelion for GT300 racing

How’s this for a sports sponsorship idea?

Evangelion makers are looking forward to co-sponsor one of the hottest car racing sports on the planet. It is Super GT300-class grand touring championship series around the moutanous areas of Mt Fuji, Japan.

And they will place a Eva Racing Logo on the entire body of aToyota Corolla vehicle.

Giant robot shows: To kill or protect?

How odd. I don’t know if anybody got this feed from my Facebook after sharing it last Friday… But I guess it was Easter Friday after all, so no one would expect (or rather too lazy) to read it, let alone opening up the link even. -_-”

Anywho, I have it here. It’s about an online anime reviewer or critique person describing us the major insights about super robot anime in our recent 40 year history of business. Especially he’s reached his own conclusion that many of the robot shows like Mazinger Z and Evangelion conveys different messages when teaching viewers on killing your enemies vs protecting your allies (or even enemies) and telling us if there’s a fine line between the two common motives used interchangeably throughout its own series.

I won’t go through all the detail here on the post, so I have the link for you to have a quick look and see what your thoughts on his statement are. I’ll raise up a poll for this and have a discussion whether you’d think the heroic robots should be focus on saving more people lives by killing their greatest enemies that threatens the peace of earth? Or rather they should spend more time eliminating the enemies in advance, and ignore the need to protecting innocent ones, as long as they’re not in our heroes way of winning tough battles?

At least that’s what I thought after I finished reading this tweet post by one of prominent American “celebrity”, Tony Dyson (the man who invented R2D2).

Robots are showing off their best dance groves they’ve ever done in front of the live audience!! Apparently, it’s part of Sony’s showcase to inform the public how incredibly “talented” robots can be if you train them to dance just like back-up Britney dancers would do. ^^

Taiwan Transformers

Was casually browsing online the other day after returning from work.

And I encountered this very awesome video clip and had to post it on my Facebook page!!

You couldn’t believe what I’m seeing here! It’s Taiwan’s very own Transformers 1/1 scale model of Optimus Prime!

Well sort of.

News said that a Taiwan local gardener built this giant (somewhat) replica of Optimus Prime model, using all the spare parts of the brake discs and other auto parts as a special present for his 10 year old son. Awww… How incredibly sweet of him! ^^

And to show he meant it with all his heart and soul, he’s spent two weeks to construct a 430 cm tall and about 500 kgs of weight as prove of his dedication for making a wonderful gift for his soul.

Man. What a swell kind of guy! That clearly shows his passion and love for this little big ‘project’ of his. ^^

Robot Model that can cosplay and sing?

Saw this ANN.com post some months ago. And I thought I love to share this piece with everyone.

Japan’s latest wacky robot invention that not only can speak and move recently, but can also – I couldn’t believe it when I first saw this – cosplay and sing as well!!

The new HRP-4C robot model was dressed up as this anime character, known as Miku Hatsune, whose apparently a very popular anime character that seems to be taken a widespread appeal among the Japanese media enthusiasts and raise the industry watchdogs for quite some time.

Never heard much about her. However, according to Wikipedia, she’s a ‘product’ made by music instrument company, Yamaha, that produces synthetic music and singing of various popular songs by actually matching the pitch and vocal range of the actual singers when she started to open her mouth to sing. Really impressed.
