Personal Note on GenerationMech.com

Posted on 05 September 2010 by admin

It’s been a long, long absence since I have written any posts on GenerationMech.com.
In fact it’s been far too long since I actually sit down, turn on my computer and open up my first new post of article of this month.  Many things surely have happened around the anime community for sure whilst I’ve been gone.   There’s no perfect excuse for me to justify why this is so.  And I’m sorry to say that I couldn’t bring out the best in delivering all the best and exciting facts or rumors on giant robots as I said on my Facebook fan page.  All the latest information of anime on mecha for all mecha fans.  That’s my motto.  It’s the motto I’m always driven to strive in giving people the entertainment they look for.
However, it hasn’t been like this this way…
Guess I owe myself and to everyone a simple explanation this long silence.  For the past 4 weeks, I asked myself a lot serious questions where will GenerationMech.com be heading to in the future… As of late, I’ve been facing several, but exciting life challenges. For a while now, I was unemployed for 4 months.  My job hunt hasn’t been anything but disappointing as jobs are harder to get in New Zealand than it was before the recession back in 2008.  During my unemployed days, I did like what everybody else would do in my situation.  Keep applying for jobs and hope a good one would come out on my doorstep… But with recession, it’s a different story.  Finding work is certainly taking a lot longer.  Heard some people were left unemployed for about 6 months.  A few went out of work for a year or more.  It’s one of those worse-case scenarios to be in.  I tried to stay positive about all this.  However, following with a string of interview disappointments, countless recruitment sign-ups, difficult employers, stiff competition, even racial discrimination, my self-esteem and confidence were ‘challenged’ on a day-to-day basis.  They’re slowly and painfully been drained away… With these difficult emotions to bear, it’s normal for someone to have low enthusiasm to blog for anything.
I needed to do something for myself.   I needed to get more productive in getting my career back on track.
In the end, I finally did.
With my visa approved to work in Australia, I booked my flights to Sydney and landed myself a job within a few days of arrival.  I’m in my first week of living in Sydney and looks like I’m going to get myself busy trying to get settled here.
With these present challenges in place, it also forced me to ponder the future of GenerationMech.com ie where to take from here now I’m facing my new ‘life’ in Sydney.  I recently turned 30 last month and now I’m looking at all the life’s serious questions I must face ie marriage, family, house, cars etc… With these things in mind, it makes me wonder where does my blogging life in anime is going to take some share of that?
With my other blogs in place, I really don’t think this is feasible.
As much as I love to write about anime and mecha for people who’s into this as much as I am,  I feel I’m not ready to commit into this unless I find many people out there are sharing the same bond of interests as I do (which I couldn’t find any).
At present, I need to put my blogging on hold for a while.  For how long, you may ask?  Well, I’m not too sure precisely.  But I know that I’m willingly to stick around for anime blogging, if you’re also keen in this as well.  Are you?
Well.. whatever your  thoughts are, I will make plans to return to blogging once I know where my life’s direction is taking me forth.  So I’m planning to return blogging on a very casual basis and hope many mecha anime fans will still be keen on this subject.  If not, then I know I’ve given myself the best of everything of what GenerationMech.com could have become.
Till then, you have a good day!
